10 Delightfully Dazzling Planters

We have a large deck that is mostly full sun, but there is also partial sun and shade. Year after year I bought all sorts of annuals only to have them not hold up to the conditions on our deck. Slowly I learned which ones worked and which didn’t do so well. After years of putting planters together for large deck, I’ve come up with 10 delightfully dazzling planters!

This post probably contains affiliated links. My full disclosure policy is boring, but you can find it HERE.

Persian shield, lavender charm verbena, euphorbia, super tunic Bordeaux petunia. All tolerated full to partial sun. This one is probably my all-time favorite. It holds up until the end of the season very well.

Spike, bracteantha jumbo rose, gulliver blue bacopa, dahlberg daisy Golden Fleece. All tolerate full to partial sun. These all grow and flourish in the sun also until the end of the season.

Minstrel pink begonia, partial sun to shade, alyssum , white begonias sun to partial shade. This is a new creation, but is doing well and looks to be a keeper combination.

Spike, summer wave large blue, giant snowflakes, red imperial begonia sun to partial shade. This is my red, white and blue combination this year. It’s loving it’s spot out on the deck!

Streptocarpella’concorf blue’, rose coleus, sweet potato vine-marguerite. Partial sun to shade except the potato vine that is full sun. Due to past experiences I know he likes this spot in partial shade better.
Persian shield, euphoria, million bells purple, vinca white, ranunculus. Full to partial sun. Unfortunately, the ranunculus just died after about 3 week. I replaced it with some impatiens and the planter looks fine.
Senecio, supertunia vista bubblegum petunia, summer wave large blue, scalpers brilliant full to partial sun. Absolutely doing this one again next year. It is thriving and totally gorgeous!
Rose star geranium, Snow White lobelia, supertunia Bordeaux petunia. All sun to partial sun. This one is another happy planter!
Nonstop pink begonia, heat electric blue lobelia, snowdrift euphorbia. Without a doubt, begonias are a staple for a long lasting planter.
Double impatiens partial sun to shade, lavender charm verbena, snowdrift euphorbia sun to partial shade. This one is right at home in it’s shady spot on the deck .
