3 Bewitching Fall Crafts

Fall and Halloween just go hand in hand! The decorations are gorgeous, all the warm colors are beautiful. Then you have Halloween and all the scary, spooky decorations! Goblins, witches, black cats….so many things to choose from for your collection. I’ve been working on mine and I’ve come up with these 3 bewitching fall crafts for you. I hope you enjoy them.

Stick Broom

For this project, all you need is a sturdy twig, raffia and hot glue. So simple and it turns out so cute!!! Honestly takes about 5 minutes to make this one!
Cut your twig to approximately 8”. Then take a hunk of raffia and try to cut to 8” or so.  You will also need a single strand to wrap around the top of your broom.
Fold the raffia in half then place a dab of hot glue about 2” up the twig. Place the stick in the middle of the raffia and fold it down at the glue dab. Take the single strand and place the broom on the middle of the strand while holding the raffia together.
Wrap each side of the strand around the raffia about 1-2” from the fold. Tie a tight square knot and trim.
Finally, measure the raffia to about 4” and trim your broom.
So now you have a cute bewitching fall craft to add to your collection!

Witch’s Hat

So this cute, little witch’s hat is super easy to make. Some black felt and thread is all you need. If you have a Cricut Maker, you can use my design or simply use scissors to cut this pattern.
Once you have your pieces cut, sew the cone for the top part of the hat.
When that is done, attach it to the brim. If you start at the top of the cone you can use the same thread throughout the project. I used some pins to turn the bottom of the cone and hold it while I stitched around attaching it to the brim.
There you go! Use this spooky hat tucked into a tablescape or other Halloween decorations you use.

Twine Candle and Holder

This silver looking candle holder was a thrift store find for $2. I just couldn’t resist it! It just needed a little clean up and I’m ready to use it!
Turns out my candle stick is pewter! I looked up a DIY cleaner and it did great!
Mix: 1 TBSP salt
         1 cup white vinegar
         1 cup flour
Once mixed you have a runny paste, rub it onto the pewter in a circular motion until it is entirely covered. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. I halved the recipe and it was way too much for my one, little candle stick. That would have done several pieces!
I want to cover this candle as I did in my post, Dollar Tree Farmhouse Candle, with jute twine. It’s a simple process, just be cautious not to burn your fingers. Sometimes I will use fingertip guards to help prevent burns.

Farmhouse Twine Candle

I twisted the candle apart so that I could add a battery later. Begin by securing the twine with some hot glue at the bottom of the candle piece, begin wrapping and gluing in spots till you reach the top. Glue the twine onto the base also.
Now it’s ready to go into the candle stick. Run hot glue around the bottom of the candle and place it in the candle holder. This is a little tricky changing the battery, but if you hold the base as you unscrew the candle you will be fine.
Now to dress it up. I want to be able to switch it up for the different seasons and holidays. Since fall is coming, I clipped some berries off of a thrift store wreath and arranged them in the base of the candle holder. The small pine cone came from Dollar Tree last year and are perfect tucked into the berries to complete the bottom.
Finally for the finishing touch, I hot glued a black buffalo check bow at the base of the candle. This is good for all seasons so the bottom is all that I will have to change. Simple but nice.
So there you go. I enjoyed making these 3 bewitching fall crafts for you and I will enjoy them even more in my fall decorations. Are you going to try making something of your own? I would love to see a photo or your thoughts in the comments below.
