Do you love Primitive decorations and whimsical yard art? How about flower and vegetable gardening? Would you like to learn a new craft or buy something ready-made? Well, you’ve come to the right place! I wish you a warm hello and welcome you to come learn about us!

about usMy name is Sue Ellen Robinson, better known as “Ralph” to my friends. I have been sewing and crafting almost my entire life! I enjoy creating things for our home and yard as well as making presents for my family and friends. So now I’ve decided to blog about my projects and offer them to you at my Etsy Shop.

Things I like to Make

I especially like primitive decor and this is reflected in some of my creations. Stars, willow trees, saltbox houses and other folksy things are peppered through my sewing and machine embroidered items. I’ve learned to coffee stain muslin that makes a fantastic fabric for plain black embroidery pictures. My mom and I learned  English smocking when my girls were little and they had many beautiful hand-smocked, French seamed dresses with big, pretty bows to tie in the back.

I love trying different types of project with all kinds of mediums. Hypertufa is a super fun thing I taught myself a few years back. Mushrooms, planter and garden totems were created. I went through a glass bead phase and came up with several gorgeous sun catchers. Scouring the thrift stores for treasures to use and re-purpose gives me thrills when I find a treasure. I’m always on the lookout for the next interesting project.

Our Home

My husband Harry and I live in the Shenandoah Valley on top of a mountain with our fur babies Stubby the cat and Molly Mae the dog. We have 9 flower beds, 2 vegetable gardens and a pool. This serene location is our own personal heaven! Since retiring it’s hard to get us to come down off the mountain. Harry has many of his own projects around the property, but takes time to help me when I need him. I am truly a grateful soul for my many blessings.
