Adding Solar Lights to the Fairy Garden
Recently I found these solar lights in the Lakeside catalog. I bought 5 strings and absolutely love them. (Not a paid endorsement) The first 3 sets went into a cherry tree I can see from my bedroom at night and I love it! Today I will be adding solar lights to the fairy garden. It’s going to be sooo cute. Let me show you how I did it.

Time to Upgrade to Solar Lights
I had made marble street light for the fairy garden that I will still use somewhere. You can check them out here in post of fairy garden with pic of lights. I’m also offer them at my Etsy shop link. So following that design, I cut a length of wire for a template then continued to cut the roll for my posts. I tried using the small wire cutters, but wasn’t strong enough to cut through so out came the hubby’s bolt cutters. They went through the wire like it was butter!
The wires were all wonky and needed to be straighten with my fingers and the pliers. After they were all straightened I put a crook in the end to hold up the string of lights. I used the needle nose pliers again to curl the end. These guys are going to be sturdy!
Alright they all have a curl in them and are ready to put into the garden. Unfortunately I’ve let the path get overgrown, again!, and need to get it cleaned up. Once again this is The Not So Fun Side of Fairy Gardens!
Clean It Up Again!
Love Fairy Gardens
Whew! These dang things are work if you let them get away from you! I have a smaller one that need just as much attention too! I have big plans for improving it too.
Alright now back to putting the solar lights in the fairy garden. The path needed new rocks so this time I chose white ones, since I had them in my stash! I played around with arranging them and finally found the way I liked. Once they were laid out all I had to do was put the stakes in and hang them.
Too Stinkin’ Cute!
OMG you guys! It is so dang cute lit up at night! I had to push forward and redo my paths so right now my big fairy garden is perfect! I’m promising myself to stay on top of it for the rest of the year. ((We’ll see how long that last!)
Love the Solar Lights in the Fairy Garden
Regardless the work my fairy garden take , in the end it is worth it! Obviously a container one is easier, but I love my big one! It’s like having a doll house through the summer. I add things to them every year and was happy to share this years upgrade. I hope you enjoyed it. So what do you think? Inspired to do one of your own? I’d love to see photos your your thoughts on mine I. The comments below.
