Amazing Giant Card with 2 Sheets of Cardstock

After a week of pretty much everything I touched turning to… well, let’s say I’ve had better weeks! Anyway, with 2 good friends having a birthday coming up soon, naturally I wanted to make them some super, fantastic cards since I’m getting pretty good at this Cricut thing. Long story short, neither one of my ideas worked! Knowing these things will happen I just decided to scrap the whole idea and make them out of Design space. During my bath, the thought of how to make a giant card hit me! So let me show you how to make a giant card with the Cricut Maker.

What You Need

To make one of these all you need is some:
Cardstock
Scoring tool
Straight edge ruler
Permanent glue tape
Glitter art glue pen
Bone folder
And an idea! This is pretty genius even if I do say so myself! I am so excited to show you!
Check out my YouTube video!

Start the Amazing Giant Card

The first thing to do is score 2 lines on each paper 1/4” in and 1/2” in from the long edge of the paper. After that, fold each line and use a bone folder to press the fold down sharp. Some of my examples are smaller and are different colors, red and white, to be able to show the folds and steps easier.
Once all the folds are sharp, on one sheet, take the Permanent glue tape and run a line down on outer part of the fold. Press the fold down firmly.
Place the glued fold on the first 1/4” of the other paper.

Now glue the second sheet back over the first glued sheet.

Almost Finished

So now you will flip the card and glue the flap down to the back sheet of the card.

Fold the card close and press all the folds with your fingers.

However, I think the card need a little extra here to hold it together securely. Therefore, take the glitter art glue pen and run a sparing  amount down the length of the card, Most importantly, DO NOT use too much here, a little goes a long way, you will see in the video.

When you open the card, the flap might need a bit of glue under it to keep it securely down.

So now you have a blank amazing giant card that you can personalize for any occasion. Perfect for a birthday card or I have the Valentine design to share.

Get the free design at my Resource Library here.

Please note that for the Valentine card, I used a Crayola marker to fill in the lettering on the heart on the front of the card.

What Will Yours Be?

In conclusion, now that you know how to make this amazing giant card from 2 sheets of cardstock, are you going to make one? Who is it going to be, for, what special occasion would it be perfect for? Use your imagination to make a truly special card for your recipient!  Use a Cricut cutting machine or let the kids do some art work for you! Please share a photo or your thoughts in the comments below.
