Recently I found these solar lights in the Lakeside catalog. I bought 5 strings and absolutely love them. (Not a paid endorsement) The first 3 sets went into a cherry tree I can see from my bedroom at night and I love it! Today I will be adding solar lights to the fairy garden. The truth about German bearded irises is that they are super easy to grow! I have loved irises since I was a little girl when we had one plain purple patch of them in in our back yard at the steps to the ally. I would run to them every day to see if they had bloomed then revel in their beauty when they did. Grandma had them in her flower beds. The do so well in cut arrangements although I do have a hard time cutting any of my flowers and prefer to enjoy them out in the flower beds.

It’s that time again! The long, bleak winter is over and spring is in full bloom. The temperature is rising finally! I’ve made my homage to one nursery and have enough to start planting in. Every year, we set out a lot of planters on our deck. We range from scorching full sun to partial sun and partial shade to shade. Harry says it’s enough, but who’s he kidding?! I still need wave petunias, impatiens and lots of marigolds! Second trip to favorite nursery took care the other flowers I needed! Still need marigolds….
