Springtime! Let’s See How to Decorate Your Yard and Porch

Pull things out of storage! I get to see all my cute summer yard, porch and planter decorations. Time to see how to decorate your yard.

I just love birdhouses! I recently added another fine feathered friend home to the collection this year. In How To Repair Your Yard Decorations I dealt with winter tole on my yard decoration. Now I get to have fun placing everything around on the pots and in the yard. I do think it’s cool that I have made most of them and you can too! Use your imagination and you’ll be surprised what you can create.

Old Christmas lights can become quirky bugs and made into plant pokes or pot hangers. You can wrap wire around a dowel and push  marbles in the spiral then finish off with a few sparkly beads for a cute bobble. Hang them from the plant pole and let them dance around in a potted plant. Glue flat marbles onto dollar store frames and tuck them in for an extra splash of color.

Twigs and small sticks can be fashioned into ladders and stars. Kitchen knives become garden poke bugs, some with knife blade wings and some with wire wings. Hypertufa balls, mushrooms, bird bath, totems, planters and statues are fun to make. There is even a face tucked in the ground cover! Glass mushroom pop up in the shade garden. Harry cut logs into chairs and they set in the shade bed too.

Antique tools look nice on the tool shed. A bird house peeks out of the big bed and a well weathered bench sits along a rock path. The flat marble jar on a post completes that bed. Beads on wire compose this piece of yard art and a window frame hangs on the end of the tool shed with a couple of primitive stars.
