Dollar Tree Vase Makeover

Well, not all my projects turn out as good as I expect! Most turn out perfect, but then there is always a possibility of a fail. This project is one of the not so good in my eyes redo. Let me show you my Redo Dollar Tree Vase Makeover.

Last fall was when I really got I to the dollar tree! OMG! I could make so many cute things, cheap!!
Check out my Quick and Easy Dollar Tree Fall Project with Cricut. I loved most of those projects except this vase. Non months later, it’s still on my work bench!
I just don’t like the design. No particular reason, but after was done I just plain didn’t like it! Why I didn’t think of this before, I’ll never know! I love my rope cover vase I did in bla bla blog for that. My daughter gave me a cordless glue gun for my birthday so I decided to try it out on this project. Cover that design with twine. Didn’t care for the color either so I repainted the neck with Waverly moss chalk paint.

Be Careful Hot Gluing

You might want to use finger protectors for this. I was a little too excited to use my new toy, but I find my joy where I can! This thing is supposed to run for 5 minutes cordless and I can’t wait to find out! No more messing with a cord in the way when I’m working on my projects is going to be wonderful!

Burning the frayed pieces gives the twine a worn, rustic look. Perfect for the farmhouse style!

Finishing Touch

This is cute as is, but I wanted to dress it up just a little more. From the stash, I used these small wooden beads. Trying a color wash technique, I diluted black acrylic paint And rolled them around in the container to cover them. Once they were dry, I strung them on embroidery floss and draped them around the neck of the vase. Topping that off with a rusty star made it perfect!
This cute, little vase fits into my farmhouse decor perfectly now! I think it turned out great! Do you like it? What’s laying around your house you might not like so well? I would love to see what you transform and how or your thoughts on my project in the comments below
