Make a Truly Unique Deco Foil T-Shirt With Cricut

Oh how I love my Cricut toys! I have been playing like a child making all sorts of cool things. Today I’m going to show you how to Make a Truly Unique Deco Foil T-Shirt with Cricut and Easypress2 . I can always use another T-shirt in my wardrobe! Heck, let’s make it from a handwritten design I’ll also be glad to share how to make with you.

Let’s get started!

This post probably contains affiliated links. My full disclosure policy is boring, but you can find it HERE.

What You Will Need

I was lucky enough to score T-shirts at Micheals for $2 each so I got one in every color I liked knowing I would have lots of ideas for them. I saw this foil and thought it was cool and had to try it! And why not make my very own handwriting into the design to make it a totally unique T-shirt.
Learn how to turn your handwriting into a SVG here
To apply it to a T-shirt you need:
Deco Foil
Vinyl Adhesive
Thermoweb pressing paper
Cricut Maker
Easypress2
Easypress mat

Begin the Deco Foil T-Shirt

I decided I wanted to do my own handwritten word for my first deco foil T-shirt.
Check out how to turn your handwriting into a svg here in my Resource Library.
Now that you have it in a new project, manipulate the size to your liking for your project. For my T-shirt I made my design 8 x 3.5”.
Place the vinyl adhesive shiny side down and mirror your image and cut the design.
I prefer to use the Cricut Paper cutting tool before I cut the design to cut the adhesive vinyl to the proper size for the design. Weed the design and discard the heavy backing.

Apply the Design

Set the EasyPress2  to 305 degrees and pre press your T-shirt to ensure all the moisture is out and there are no wrinkles. Find the center of your design and place it where you want it on your project.
Place the EasyPress2 on the design for about 10 seconds and let it cool to peel. There will be a sticky, adhesive design on your project. Cut the Deco Foil to the size of your design and place it shiny, pretty side up. Use Thermoweb pressing paper to cover the foil non stick side down, then press for 15 seconds.
Let the Deco Foil cool completely and peel off the foil. It will stick to the adhesive vinyl for your totally one of a kind T-shirt!

What Are You Going To Make?

Alright, if you look close, there is a bad place here and there, but that’s the art of handmade!  Those little imperfections give the project character and do totally make your creations unique. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you end up with a small mistake, more than likely, no one else will ever see it. So I wear my shirt with the pride of knowing that it is the only shirt like this that will ever be!
So what are you going to make with this fun Deco Foil? Please share your comments and projects with us below.
