Mason Jar Tissue Holder with Cricut Felt Flowers

After making my first paper flowers for my fairy lantern I was hooked! I wanted to make more! I wanted to try felt flowers too! But what to use them for? Why not do a mason jar tissue holder? Let me show you how to decorate a mason jar tissue holder with felt flowers and a Cricut Maker. I explain how to DIY Felt Flowers With Your Cricut Maker here. Let’s get started.

Let’s Get Started

List of Supplies
Quart mason jars
Acrylic paint paint brush
Spray sealer
Felt
Needle
Quilting thread
Twine
Glue gun
Permanent premium vinyl
Cricut Maker
Rubbing alcohol
Round Kleenex containers

Paint the Mason Jar

To begin I painted the jars as covered in Master the Art of Painting and Distressing Mason Jars. This time I found I prefer to seal the painted jars to keep them from chipping. I choose a matte finish but a glossy would do fine also. It is up to you and your preference. The goal is to seal the jar and prevent chips as I stated before.
Once the jars are painted and sealed, it’s time to glue the twine. I go down the jar about an inch and a half. This give the flowers a neutral background.

For the Lid

Unfortunately my jars are wide mouth and the slit for the Kleenex is a tad too small to fit well. Using the hot glue, I attached it the best I could. unfortunately, some were a little sloppy, but I managed to get the slit to stick in the lids.

Choose a Design

A lot of jars I’ve seen have Bless You for the Cricut design. Because my gift recipients might not always want to use the jar as a tissue dispenser once the tissues run out, I chose Bless this Home. In addition to holding tissues, it can be used for other household storage such as kitchen utensils or makeup brushes. Keep whatever you like in the jar when the Kleenex are gone if you want.
Don’t forget to get your copy of this design here in my free resource library.
Don’t have a Cutting machine, buy the design here for $5
After cutting the design on my Cricut Maker I applied it to the jar. Always wipe the area with alcohol to remove all dirt and oils to ensure your best sticking for the design.

Apply the Cricut Felt Flowers

Continue making as many flowers as you want for the jar. All one color or several different colors, you can’t really go wrong! Glue the leaves on the tissue holder and top with the flowers.
Place the roll of Kleenex in the jar and screw on the lid. There you go! Certainly a cute gift!

Make Some Tissue Holders for gifts

Make one for yourself or make several for gifts. They are thoughtful and useful not to mention fun to make! Therefore they are bound to be a hit!
