Photo to Drawing

Fine Tune Your Photo
My dog Molly is the subject of this lesson.
Once a photo is select and it’s uploaded, choose the desired size and click the arrow at the bottom right of the screen.
Slide the faces at the bottom until you find the one that says ‘ink’. After choosing that and the photo turns to a drawing. You will see four slider bars at the bottom of the photo that can be used to fine tune the photo. Slide them until the image is what you want. In this case, I’m trying to make the dog what I want because the background is going to be erased.
Once your photo is the way you want, tap the editor brush at the top , center of the screen.
Remove Unwanted Background
Once the editor button has been clicked, you will want to turn off the 100%. This makes the pinkish hue leave the photo. Turn this box off. Next click on the eraser in the left hand column of tools. You can choose the size of the eraser at the bottom by holding down on the circle and sliding it to the size you want.
Now you can use your finger to start removing any unwanted back ground. Since I’m using my phone, I enlarge the image to make it easier to work on. It’s a little tricky to erase up next to what you want to keep. Certainly use the undo button if you mess up somewhere.
Here’s The Helpful Tool
It’s hard to get up next to the edge of your image and erase without getting into that image with your finger as the eraser. Therefore I found this handy-dandy tool that helps with this problem. This is the stylus that I use. As a result, it makes it so much easier to remove the background. Press firmly and go slow and steady You will achieve your desired look in no time!
Remove The Background
Begin by removing the outer background with your finger or the stylus tool. Set the size to large to take big spaces out quickly. Remove all you can as close to the image as possible. Then it’s time to put that stylus to good use. Set the eraser size to smaller and begin removing next to the image you want to keep. Enlarge if needed, clean up as close as you can to remove all the background. Remember slight, but firm pressure to use the stylus.
Move the tool bar out of your way easily by putting your finger on it and moving it to where you want it. Therefore, it’s out of your work space.
Choose share when you have the image the way you want it. Select the size you want to upload and choose .jpeg to camera roll.
All of your photos that you work on are stored in the gallery making it even more convenient to use this app.

Use The Photo in Design Space
So now it’s time to open Design Space and upload the image. Choose simple, continue and clean up any speckles that you might have missed. Finally, save it as a print and cut.
Once it’s in your uploads you can do whatever you want with it. Cut it out in vinyl or print it on a sticker or just print it on paper. It’s all up to you!
What To Do With Your New Drawing
At first, I learned to do these for the Personalized QR Code and Sound-wave Frame I offer at my Etsy shop. The image can be print and cut or cut it out of premium vinyl on your Cricut machine. Make a special, one of a kind gift for a loved one, commemorate a special occasion, just use your imagination for your unique creation. Gifts will be a hit because the are so personal.
Are you going to try this? Would love to see what you do. Please leave your thought or comments and photos of your projects.
