I love homemade scrubs! They make your skin so silky and hydrated. The ease of applying in the shower and then no lotion when you’re dry is great! One less step when getting ready for whatever. Smells great! So let me show you how to make a luscious lavender salt scrub with a print and cut sticker.

Making the Luscious Lavender Salt Scrub

2 cups coconut oil, Organic, unrefined coconut oil is the best
1 cup epsom salt
20 drops lavender or your choice of scent
Couple dashes of lemon extract
Combine coconut oil and epsom salt in a bowl. Add oil and extract then stir. Spoon into the mason jar and tamp down to eliminate air bubbles.*
*add more epsom salt if you prefer more grit.
I store mine in a pint mason jar, but use a small amount in a plastic container when in the shower. Glass breaking would not be good so please be careful. Your hands will be slick in the shower.

Make the Label

Who wants just a plain, old lid on their luscious lavender salt scrub?! Not me! So I designed this print and cut label for my jar.
I did take the glass jar into the shower the first time I used it and the label got wet. I think it held up pretty good!

Coconut Oil is Good for Your Skin

This scrub is so good for your skins health. Organic, unrefined coconut oil is the best coconut oil for skin care because it contains all the naturally occurring phytonutrients and polyphenols. Look for coconut oils described as “virgin,” “cold pressed,” or “raw.”  It absorbs quickly without clogging pores, and can be beneficial for oily skin. Research has been conducted on coconut oil for its effects on the skin. There’s some evidence that coconut oil may help treat dermatitis better than other oils. Your skin loses collagen with age, causing fine lines and wrinkles. applying coconut oil to your skin can also help keep it hydrated. The two-week study found that coconut oil significantly improved skin hydration and was just as effective as mineral oil. The type of fatty acids in coconut oil work in some very real, beneficial ways for your skin.

More Benefits of the Salt Scrub

The second benefit comes from three specific fatty acids that have strong anti-fungal and antimicrobial properties. A third benefit is vitamin E, which has long been known to keep skin healthy and have anti-aging benefits. It hydrates skin for 24 hours and helps to improve skin elasticity and collagen production. Coconut oil is also known for its anti-aging properties. Coconut oil has anti-oxidants such as Vitamin E and Vitamin A, which help to slow down the aging process and may help to reduce the damage from free radicals and the sun. Since coconut oil promotes collagen production, it can help repair skin cells, meaning our cuts and rashes will heal faster. The antibacterial properties make coconut oil ideal for preventing infection in small cuts and lacerations. It has become a familiar staple in many kitchens and can also be used to tighten your skin. Coconut oil is a powerful antioxidant that works to eliminate free radicals that can damage your skin. In addition, coconut oil hydrates and moisturizes your skin, which prevents sagging.

Luscious Lavender Salt Scrub with Print and Cut Label

I love my luscious, lavender salt scrub! I use it every time I shower and my skin feels luxurious every time! No more dry, desert looking skin on my legs and my arms are soft and hydrated too. I whole-heatedly recommend using coconut oil salt scrub. Your skin will thank you!
